Families � Nurturing & Toxic
What do you think of when you hear the word "family"?�What feeling do you get when you hear or say that word?�"Family" is often the source of deep emotions - either positive or negative.�The lure of the family is so great that many movies and TV shows are built around it.�The tears and emotions that are evoked when parents and children reconcile after being apart or angry for years is something we can all relate to.

The Deity Of Jesus
In the late 1980's, a group of ministers, executives and college faculty members assembled in Pasadena. The main topic was a "One God" theory. It proposed that Jesus was never in the past and is not now Deity and that he did not exist prior to his birth as a human being.

Should God's People Be Assertive?
Must God's people sit helplessly by while others take away their rights? How is it that God's servants can go boldly and respectfully to God but fear to speak boldly and respectfully to church leaders? This attitude was even in some churches in Paul's day. 2 Cor 11:20 "In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or pushes himself forward or slaps you in the face"(NIV).

Clinical and Spiritual DEPRESSION
Many people are not even aware of it, but they suffer from a low grade mental depression. Researchers are convinced that one of the causes of alcoholism is an underlying state of depression. Drugs are often prescribed in an attempt to relieve this depression.

An Eye For An Eye
If your child punched another child in the face and knocked out his tooth, what would you do? If your neighbor scratched your car, what would you do? Some people read the passage of Scripture in Exodus 21:24 and in Deut. 25:11-12 and conclude that they should give back in kind. After all, doesn't the Bible say, "...eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.." etc??

Do You Look On The Heart?
When God was choosing a king to replace Saul, He sent Samuel to the house of Jesse to pick one of Jesse�s sons. Samuel wanted to choose the first born son but God told him, "�look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature�for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart" (1Sam. 16:7). David was a man after God's own heart (1 Sam. 13:14). Jeremiah pleaded with the people to circumcise the "foreskin of your heart" (Jer. 4:4).
